Look up events and insert event subscriber in code

One of the new feature in BC 2020 Wave 1 is “Look up events and insert event subscriber in code”. You can lookup event in all object and automatically insert event subscriber into a code.

  1. From Command Palette , run function AL: Find Event or using shortcut key Shift + Alt + E

2. You can search event by typing event name or object name

3. Select the event you want then it will automatically create the event subscriber in your code.

This a great feature and very helpful to create event subscriber. Nice work MS.

How to schedule your Business Central Update

Microsoft has started rolling out Business Central update for 2020 wave 1. Once your extension is ready for an upgrade, follow below step to update your BC Instance

  1. Go to Extension Management then upload your extension and deploy to “Next Major Version”.

2. Go to Deployment Status to see your extension status. The system will only deploy it once the BC is upgraded to the next major version.

3. Go to Admin Center to schedule Business Central update. Click on the environments then Update -> Schedule Update. Select the date and make sure you set Update Window

You will received an email once the update is complete.

BC 2020 Wave 1 Manage User Session

One of the new BC 2020 Wave 1 features that I have been waiting . Now you can see who is connecting to BC and you have the ability to cancel the session.

Go to Admin Center , choose the environment then click Manage Sessions. It will show the list of user that connected to the instance. If you want to cancel it, you can choose the user then cancel session.
